Research

The goal of the research at the IT University is to contribute to making Denmark exceptionally good at creating value with IT. This requires worldclass research focussed at problems that lead to both new insight and has impact on the practical use of IT.

The IT University is expected to make a significant contribution to Denmark’s ability to develop and exploit IT. One of the vehicles for doing this is the university’s research. However, resources are limited and external conditions are constantly changing. The research strategy outlines how to invest research resources and handle changes based on long-term priorities.

The strategy is a tool to assist in decision making on many levels ranging from individual researchers deciding how to best use their personal resources in accordance with priorities set by the board of directors and top management. Hence, the strategy determines some general principles that are interpreted and implemented by many individuals in their daily work.
